Hot on the heels of their autumnal hit “Ghost Singer” and the across-the-board success of their new album HANDCLAPS & TAMBOURINES, Ohio's LIBRARIANS WITH HICKEYS are back with a brand new -- and equally seasonal -- single from the hit record. “I Better Get Home” is out this Friday, November 18, just in time for the homecoming holiday and up for pre-order now at
bigstirrecords.bandcamp.com (while those who haven't picked up the full album can find it on CD or streaming everywhere now:
orcd.co/librarianswithhickeys-2). A video for the song can be expected before your turkey hits the table later this month.
“I Better Get Home” has already seen robust global airplay as the album's explosive opening track, ushering in the record with a burst of Hammond organ and garage-rock energy. The November release of the single throws a spotlight on its core sentiment: it's on one hand a plea to get back home to be with family, and on the other hand a love letter to the Librarians' hometown of Akron, Ohio. The accompanying video for the new single sees lead vocalist Ray Carmen wandering around the famous Soap Box Derby racetrack and the now-dilapidated Rubber Bowl (once the home of late1970's Monsters Of Rock shows featuring acts like Van Halen, Stevie Wonder and the Rolling Stones). More details will surface along with the full clip in the week following the single's release.
All of which is say, the band and Big Stir Records hope you will all be home with family this Thanksgiving, and that you will enjoy their new single! It's been a watershed year for LIBRARIANS WITH HICKEYS and we won't be surprised if HANDCLAPS & TAMBOURINES becomes not only your Holiday soundtrack, but an adornment on many a “Best Albums of 2022” list.
