BIG STIR RECORDS SINGLES SERIES is pleased to announce the single release from ORANGE LIKE ME titled “Mr. Time” up for preorder now at bigstirrecords.bandcamp.com/album/mr-time-big-stir-single-no-149 and streaming on digital platforms worldwide on August 27th.

“Mr. Time” lyrically draws upon a sequence of lost moments with a fitting tempo that steadily moves this dreamy tune along. From an airy and light verse to the playful driving chorus, this is a thoughtful synth pop delight.

Brian Nupp is the creative force behind Orange Like Me. Coming of age in the 1990 indie home cassette underground of Canton, Ohio, he learned the craft of four-track recording from pioneers Plastic Eye Miracle. Armed with an Ovation bass he joined the band Peat Moss. After two early Orange Like Me albums where he pushed the limits of analog tape, in Toledo he formed LazerLove5, whose critically-acclaimed 2005 album “Flicker Mask” had help from friends Matthew Seligman (Soft Boys) and Bid (Monochrome Set). The 2010s saw Brian produce new releases for LazerLove5 and Peat Moss, occasionally exploring deeper influences in synth pop. Brian returns in 2021 to his Orange Like Me roots, with the same bass guitar, a cast of players, and a book of handwritten lyrics all tied together with mixes by Chris Stamey (dB’s).

Big Stir Records is grateful that Orange Like Me brought us “Mr. Time” for the Singles Series. We are ready and eagerly awaiting what else may be in store!
