With the album having been hailed for its adventurous, genre-hopping scope while retaining the unerring pop sensibilities for which Alexander has been known since his late-70s power pop beginnings with SORROWS and THE POPPEES, it's no surprise that the latest track to hit radio is something completely different. If the pop-punk throwback first single “Woman” and it's '60s-folk-inflected followup “Humming Blues In Four” hinted at a command of the full history of modern pop, “Oh Lulu” will leave no doubt that ARTHUR ALEXANDER can do it all.

“I love the old style trad jazz, swing music and Vaudeville songs from the ’20s and ’30s,” says ARTHUR, setting the stage for “Oh Lulu, Won't You Be My Girl.” Yes, friends, this one swings. It's got a direct sweetness for a reason – just ask him who it's about! -- and it's never failed to bring a smile to anyone who's heard it. It's a special treat when dropped into the otherwise blistering live rock sets of THE ARTHUR ALEXANDER BAND on stages across Southern California: Arthur's the only frontman you're likely to see this year with a kazoo fitted into a harmonica rack. But “Lulu” also features a period-perfect solo on Arthur's primary instrument. “The guitar break reflects my love for Django Reinhardt, it’s just too bad my playing ability does not,” says the ever-humble Alexander. “I was trying to make this song as corny and camp as I possibly could and, gosh darn, I hope I succeeded!”

As with the prior singles, “Oh Lulu” will be accompanied by a new music video directed and produced by Michael Bulbenko, this one finding Arthur and his bandmates decked out in genre-appropriate finery. Look for it to premiere in the week leading up the single release.
